Anomalous propagation mechanisms

There are several subsidiary mechanisms that are fleeting, or singular, augmenting the main propagation mechanisms listed on other pages. I’ve listed and described these anomalous propagation mechanisms here.

Aircraft scatter

Aircraft scatter (or perhaps more correctly, aircraft reflections) is a mechanisms that everyone experiences often when exploring others. It has two forms – as a reflected wave that interferes with the wanted to cause flutter, and as a DX mechanism in its own right providing communications over non-line-of-sight paths over hundreds of kilometres. The focus here is on aircraft scatter as a DX mechanism.
